Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Thursday that the German government is trying to clear up the remaining questions on Magna's bid for carmaker Opel as soon as possible.

She told reporters after a bilateral meeting with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that she expected the remaining open questions on Opel and Magna be cleared up in next few days.
