Software giant and game developer Microsoft has started its E3 campaign this year with a glimpse of the much-awaited Halo 4 which will be the first of a new trilogy of the Halo series.

The game, which is set for a holiday season of 2012 release, is the second wave of Microsoft’s Kinect games and a new boundary for the Xbox 360 platform. Halo 4’s preview video showed a space marine on the side of a damaged space ship.

The company’s presentation at the Expo hovered mainly around the new Kinect and other games which enable the player to control the gameplay using voice commands and body movement.

The Kinect, released in 2010, is said to have sold more than 2 million units globally in less than a month after its launch.

The developers also said all the four new sports games -- FIFA 12, Madden Football, Tiger Woods Golf and an unnamed venture -- will use the Kinect.
