Microsoft has started a new deal on Surface Pro 4 exclusively for students. The limited period offer allows buyers of Surface Pro 4 to avail a free Xbox One.

The Redmond giant is not directly offering the Xbox One for free with Surface Pro 4 buyers. According to The Verge, Microsoft is offering a massive discount of $300 on Xbox One to students who purchase the Surface Pro 4 as well as the gaming console.

The Surface Pro 4 with its versatile device is just one of the best devices that students can make use for their college years. It comes with a full edition of Windows 10 and high-end specs.

The base model that is powered by Intel Core M3 chipset is available for $899. The highest configuration variant featuring Intel Core i7 is priced at $1599. The $300 discount deal is valid till Aug. 14.

The announcement of the deal has happened just a week after the Redmond giant announced that it will be stopping the production of Surface 3 devices by the end of 2016. As of this writing, there is no confirmation on whether Microsoft will be releasing a successor model for it.

However, most speculations suggest that the Redmond giant will concentrate on selling Surface Pro and Surface Book devices and it may their successor models by next year. Terry Myerson, the Executive VP of the Windows and Devices Group with Microsoft has revealed to the publication that the company will be focusing on new products from Microsoft and its partners in fall this year.

Speculations are rife that apart from new devices from partners like HP, Dell, Lenovo and so on, it will be launching a refreshed edition of Microsoft Band fitness band. The Redmond giant is also expected to release Xbox TV devices.
