The Walking Dead winter premiere

You’re probably finding yourself tuning into Netflix more often these days. After all, there aren’t going to be too many new episodes airing around the holidays. Many shows have already aired midseason finales and are on hiatus until 2017. Luckily, most have already set return dates.

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” fans are happy to know they have a short hiatus this year. With “Agent Carter” canceled, there is no reason for ABC to hold the new episodes until spring. Season 4 resumes Jan. 10, marking one of the shortest winter breaks the show has had, and the new episodes will focus on the threat Life Model Decoys pose.

Also on ABC, TGIT returns Jan. 19. “Scandal” will kick off a new season, but “Grey’s Anatomy” and “How to Get Away With Murder” audiences were left with cliffhangers. “Grey’s” fans will find out Alex’s (Justin Chambers) fate in the midseason premiere, and “HTGAWM” viewers will be looking for clues about who killed Wes (Alfred Enoch).

Some shows, like “New Girl” and “Teen Wolf,” will only take a couple weeks off before returning. That gives viewers just enough time to spend with their families during the holidays and New Years. However, other shows, like “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Walking Dead,” are going to take about two months to return.
