“Teen Wolf” Season 6 just showed Stiles for the first time in weeks, and now fans will have to wait even longer to see how the pack reacts to his message. The show is taking a hiatus for the winter holidays.

MTV confirmed to International Business Times that “Teen Wolf” will not return until 2017. Season 6, episode 6 will air on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 9 p.m. EST.

When the season resumes, the pack will be following Stiles’ (Dylan O’Brien) instructions. He is stuck in some sort of fake train station, but he communicated with the pack through radios to tell them to “find Canaan.” Now that they know Stiles is real, Scott (Tyler Posey), Lydia (Holland Roden) and Malia (Shelley Hennig) will be doing everything they can to bring their friend back.

The trailer for episode 6 reveals that Canaan is an abandoned town. It seems the Ghost Riders cleared out almost the entire neighborhood.

The promo video also reveals that not everyone is gone. Lydia (Holland Roden) will meet another banshee there. Could banshees be safe from the Ghost Riders’ grasp?

While speaking to reporters at New York Comic Con, Roden revealed that audiences could expect one hour in the first half of the season to delve into the history of banshees. If she is meeting another one of her kind, it seems like this might be the episode Roden was referring to.

“A lot of the season is not focused on the banshee-ism, but there is one amazing episode that is all banshee history,” Roden said. “That’s a really fun episode. I think you guys are going to like that a lot.”

“Teen Wolf” Season 6 returns Tuesday, Jan. 3 on MTV.
