Miley Cyrus appeared on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” in a skit parodying the music video for her hit single, “We Can’t Stop,” while also mocking the government shutdown.

The parody skit, titled “We Did Stop (The Government)” featured Cyrus as Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., and Taram Killam, an “SNL” cast member, as Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio.

Replacing the original chorus of “We Can’t Stop,” Cyrus is heard in the parody singing,

“La dee dee da dee, Republican Party, Repping GOP, doing whatever we want. This is our House. This is our rules and we did stop.”

The video features Killam as Boehner in a white outfit similar to what Cyrus wore in the original video.

Along with parodies of Boehner and Bachmann, were several scenes mocking the government shutdown, including a bear with a closed sign in its mouth, a horrified President Barack Obama (played by Jay Pharoah) looking through window blinds, a “party animal” Uncle Sam and even a caricature of Ronald Reagan.
