Former Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi was captured and killed on Oct. 20 in his hometown of Sirte after a two months hunt by the National Transitional Council forces.

According to a senior NTC official, Abdel Majid, the autocratic ruler died of wounds inflicted during his capture, reported Reuters.

Reports said that Gadhafi was hiding like a rat in a drain tunnel when he was dragged out and killed by Libyan fighters. He was cornered, beaten and then shot in the head as Libya's new leaders declared they had overrun the last bastion of his long rule.

The 69-year-old, who seized power in 1969, was the longest-serving leader in Africa and the Arab world.

The raw video footage shows the fighters getting hold of the former Libyan leader.
