“Modern Family” star Sarah Hyland stirred up quite a frenzy earlier in the week when she shared a photo of herself and boyfriend Wells Adams in bed, where they appeared to be laying naked with his dog. Despite what some deemed a controversial picture, the actress stood by her post and her clap back towards the hater who called her out over it.

During an interview with E! News, Hyland explained that she didn’t want one person’s harsh words to shape and affect the opinion of others.

“I don’t care what people say to me whatever. I care what young women…[and] what youths see, [such as] comments on, like, my Instagram or Twitter or anything like that that could possibly have a negative impression on them and make them think of not just me in a certain way but life in a certain way,” she said.

The 26-year-old went on to explain that she wants to spread courage, positivity and bravery on her social media accounts, while standing up for her fans and not allowing others to take advantage of them.

The drama started on Tuesday, when Hyland received a direct message on Twitter calling her out for what an individual deemed as an inappropriate photo of herself and Wells. The actress then sarcastically apologized for sharing what she considered a sweet moment, and explained that one hater wouldn’t stop her from sharing the things that she wants on social media.

“Not putting her on blast. She just brought to my attention that the picture I posted might have been inappropriate since we were in bed. So I just have to say I’m so sorry… FOR POSTING AN ADORABLE PICTURE BECAUSE CARL WAS ACTING LIKE THE NUGGUETIEST SNUGGLW [sic] BUG,” she wrote.

The ABC star then explained that while she values her privacy, she also likes to be honest with her fans, and will continue to share parts of her personal life with them.

Considering she is not backing down from posting the photo, it looks like it’s going to take a lot more than a few harsh words to make Hyland censor what she chooses to share with her fans and the world.
