Beyoncé was named 2016’s most charitable celebrity for her work in support of black women in popular culture, the water crisis in Flint, Michigan, and gender equality. The "Celebs Gone Good" is an annual list that is prepared to honor "celebrities who use their fame and influence to create positive change."

According to the organizers of the list, Beyoncé has been involved in several charitable work this year that includes her part in co-hosting a charity concert for Tidal in New York City to benefit poverty-fighting The Robin Hood Foundation, and raising $82,000 for the water crisis in Flint.

"The Lemonade singer also put the spotlight on the #BlackLivesMatter movement by sharing the red carpet at MTV’s VMAs with the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Michael Brown and Oscar Grant III," the website stated.

The 2016 selections for the "Celebs Gone Good" list were based on fan votes, expert opinion, and IMDB StarMeter rankings.

The second position in the list was given to Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, for his notable work in charity by participating in the musical tribute, "Love Make the World Go Round," of which all proceeds went to the victims and families of the Pulse shooting in Orlando. The shooting incident took place on June 12 when a gunman killed 49 people and wounded 53 others. Miranda teamed up with Jennifer Lopez for the tribute, and also used his Tony Awards acceptance speech to pay tribute to the victims.

Taylor Swift took the third place in the list for donating $1 million to relief efforts in the floods in Louisiana earlier this year.
