Crysis 2, video game developers Crytek's last big production, has reportedly beaten First Person Shooter (FPS) big boys Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3to become the most pirated game of 2011, with a shocking 3.9 million-plus illegally downloaded copies. According to a list compiled by TorrentFreak , Modern Warfare 3 has more than 3.6 million pirated copies and Battlefield 3 3.5 million.

The Crytek-developed game, according to TorrentFreak, was leaked via torrents over a month before its official March release. However, the number took a staggering leap forward once the game was officially released.

Meanwhile, Gears of War 3 managed to gain the same dubious honor on the Xbox 360, while Super Mario Galaxy 2, which arrived in 2010, scooped the title of the most pirated Nintendo Wii game for the second year in a row.
