Even though leaks pertaining to flagship Moto X 2016 and midrange Moto G 2016 are rife, the budget-friendly Moto E 2016 has not received much attention so far.

Thanks to the Indian import/export tracker database Zauba, we now know that a Motorola device — codenamed “Affinity” — has landed in India. According to GSM Arena, “Affinity” could be the entry-level Moto E 2016. Many OEMs send their devices to Indian development/testing centers for evaluation prior to their launch.

According to Zauba, the third-generation Moto E 2016 will flaunt a 5.0-inch display. In comparison, the second-generation device comes with a pocket-friendly 4.5-inch screen. The 5.0-inch display makes sense because the handset has to accommodate a fingerprint scanner. In January, Lenovo executives acknowledged that all the Moto 2016 devices will feature fingerprint scanners onboard.

The price of the “testing unit” of the Moto E 2016 is 5,164 rupees, (about $78). The sale price of the product could be different.

Motorola has scheduled a special event on June 9 to launch one of the Moto 2016 handsets. Although there is no official word to ascertain which device will be unveiled, rumors say it could be the midrange Moto G 2016 (also known as Moto G4) and its bigger sibling Moto G4 Plus.

The other possibility is the flagship Moto X 2016. Based on rumors, the Moto X will reportedly come with a 5.0-inch display and a front-facing flash. Apart from standard connectivity options, this device will reportedly sport a USB Type-C connector.
