The Motorola Droid Bionic is an eagerly anticipated new phone from set to launch on Verizon.

While there have been official communications from Motorola about the general launch period, in recent days and weeks, speculation has also arisen about a specific date.

In an April 19 fact sheet issued by Motorola, the company stated: The New Droid Bionic: Coming Soon.

The official statement notes that the Droid Bionic will be one of the best 4G LTE devices on the market.

The phone was first announced at the International Consumer Electronics Show early in the year.

Motorola says it will launch this summer with Verizon Wireless.

The company says it is incorporating several enhancements based on feedback since the show.

What will be added? Motorola says the revised phone will include expanded features, functionality and an improved form factor.

The Latest Speculation

One Twitter account which was recently created and seems to have no official link to Motorola or Verizon Wireless, nevertheless has a Droid logo for its profile and has been alluding to cell phone enhancements.

Among the tweets was a mention of the enhancements Motorola officially mentioned.

Pictures of me would be unwise, but my complete redesign is not new form factor for my maker, the Twitter user MDB228 states. Another alludes to a possible batter specification, noting: My 1900 mAh allows me all the energy I need.

On July 22, the account stated: T-Minus 1,166,400. The tweet did not specify what was being counted down.

If it is assumed it's seconds, then the arrival would be on August 4.

Meanwhile, Amazon.com recently released two product photos showing a docking station and a navigation but quickly removed them, according to Android Central.

Also, the FCC may have cleared the Droid Bionic for release, according to Android Central, which showed a diagram of a device that could be the phone in question. The photos of the device and user manual are under a confidentiality agreement that ends on August 7, according to the site.
