Motorola announced the Moto 360 watch shortly after Google unveiled its plans for Android Wear on Tuesday. The round-faced smart watch will have interchangeable bands and work with any smartphone running Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) or higher, althought Motorola has kept most of the watch’s specs under wraps.

In a Google Hangouts video with the Moto 360’s lead designer, Jim Wicks, Motorola revealed that the watch does not have any charging contacts. That means no USB or headphone ports, or anything else for that matter, leading some to speculate that the Moto 360 will be released with some sort of wireless induction charging.

Solar and kinetic (movement) charging methods are sometimes included on standard watches, and Motorola could incorporate those kinds of designs into the Moto 360, or some combination of methods to keep the battery running. Motorola refused to disclose details about how the Moto 360 maintains a charge in an email to the International Business Times.

Motorola will release the Moto 360 watch at an undisclosed date sometime “this summer.” It will be water resistant, but the company has not revealed just how much water the Moto 360 will be able to withstand.

You will be able to change the watchbands, although Motorola refused to say whether you could use standard ones made for any watch or if you would have to buy them directly from Motorola. The company will likely offer a Moto Maker customization service for the Moto 360, as it does for the Moto X smartphone.

Motorola says they have omitted a camera from the Moto 360, but users will always be able to tell the time at a glance. While Motorola is not yet keen on offering full details about the Moto 360, they will likely release more information by the Google I/O developer’s conference in June.
