The Nasdaq edged lower on Monday but was trading at about the same level when Intel Corp resumed trading after cutting its outlook.

The chipmaker dropped 1.6 percent to $21.11 after it cut its first-quarter revenue outlook on costs associated with correcting a design flaw it discovered in one of its chips.

The Dow Jones industrial average was up 19.57 points, or 0.17 percent, at 11,843.27. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 4.18 points, or 0.33 percent, at 1,280.52. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 1.98 points, or 0.07 percent, at 2,684.91.
