The “Nashville” Season 3 finale is going to torture some fan-favorite characters. Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) will continue to refuse to accept the idea that she has problems, according to the episode 22 synopsis. Meanwhile, Deacon (Charles Esten) might finally solve all of his problems when he gets a liver transplant.

Juliette will be working on her album-- the one she claimed could be done in two days --while ignoring her friends’ suggestion that she might have postpartum depression. She “puts everything and everyone she loves behind” the album, but Avery (Jonathan Jackson) may have found a way to stop her.

Her husband will have to make “a decision that impacts their lives forever,” the synopsis says. Could he take baby Cadence away? In the promo video below, it looks like Juliette will have a violent outburst when she gets frustrated with Avery. It’ll either be enough to make Avery leave, or it might make Juliette finally realize that she has a problem.

Deacon will be in a different kind of trouble. Although Beverly (Dana Wheeler-Nicholson) came to town to tell Deacon that she changed her mind about donating part of her liver, there are still plenty of other factors to consider. He might reject the liver or the surgery might not be able to happen if he gets sicker. His tumor also has to be less than 5 centimeters, and it was awfully close to that when doctors last checked.

Rayna (Connie Britton) will be at his side along with Maddie (Lennon Stella) and Daphne (Maisy Stella), but it isn’t clear if they’ll be planning a funeral or a wedding -- or both. The synopsis teases: “With the clock ticking and the future uncertain, will they celebrate a life together?” Deacon proposes to Rayna in the video above, but her answer isn't shown. Fans will have to hope that the “Nashville” Season 3 finale doesn’t end with a cliffhanger.
