Black Swan actress Natalie Portman has been named the new face of Dior.

The 29-year-old has inked a deal with the French fashion house and her first campaign will be for Miss Dior Cherie.

This is the first time the 29-year old has singed up to be a representative for a beauty company.

Calling Portman charismatic and elegant, Parfums Christian Dior chief Claude Martinez said, We are extremely excited to have Miss Portman embody our house. She will symbolise with grace the values of luxury and the glamour of Dior.

Portman, on the other hand, described her beauty regimen as casual and even sloppy.

With the Dior deal, Portman follows in the footsteps of a great line of Dior models such as Sharon Stone, Charlize Theron, Jude Law and Monica Bellucci.

The print campaign was shot by Tim Walker and the company roped in Sofia Coppola to film the TV commercial.

Speaking on the commercials, which feature Portman with a young model, the actress commented: I felt like a big old cougar. He's, like, 20. The commercial is subliminal advertising for my film.

Despite her casual attitude to her beauty regime , Natalie recently admitted in a an interviews that she was concerned about losing her looks. The actress said, You see people who were stars five years ago and already they're waning. As actresses approach 40, it starts becoming really, really difficult.
