The necklace Lindsay Lohan allegedly stole from a jewelry store in California will be auctioned off in a charity.

We have decided to sell the diamond necklace through auction, and give the proceeds to charity, a rep for the Kamofie and Co. jewelry store announced via TMZ.

We invite the public to make suggestions as to the most appropriate charity to receive the benefit of the sale's proceeds, the rep said.

The auction will occur after the criminal case is resolved.

Lohan will appear in court Thursday, and according to reports will most likely not accept the plea bargain which will include jail time for the actress.

A few days ago Kamofie and Co. released to the public a surveillance tape of Lohan allegedly stealing the necklace from the store. Currently, the necklace remains at the L.A. County District Attorney's office, where it will stay until the case is closed.
