A new trailer for the upcoming “Disney Infinity 3.0” was released, detailing a number of new modes and features that were not in the previous games in the series. Some of the new features announced by Disney Interactive include Flynn’s Arcade, El Capitan, sidekicks and farming. Along with the new features are a number of new toys and tools that will be making their debut in “Disney Infinity 3.0.”
One of the newer features of the game is the Toy Box Hub, as reported by Polygon. While the Toy Box has been part of the previous two games in the “Disney Infinity” series, the hub takes things a bit further as it offers tutorials on the game and lets players choose games with different genres like platforming and racing. Previous Toy Box options like world building and the ability to play different mini-games will still be part of “Disney Infinity 3.0.”
Flynn’s Arcade lets competitive Toy Box players take each other on in online play. This feature lets players take on others in a lobby-style system, which will not limit the player to simply fighting friends online. This way, players will be able to take on newer opponents that they may have not faced before.
According to IGN, El Capitan is where players will be able to view episodes of Toy Box TV. This is also where players can preview upcoming community-made toy boxes and download them if they like it. The name “El Capitan” comes from the Walt Disney Theater in Hollywood with the same name, which has been around since 1926.
Farming is a major new feature for “Disney Infinity,” as players will be able to grow food for the various townspeople in the Toy Box. To do this, players can choose and design one of the characters to be their sidekick and help around the farm. Feeding the sidekick makes them stronger and will allow them to participate in combat and toy box building.
In addition to the new features, there are a number of new toys for the game, most of which are new areas or vehicles. Players will be able to venture to Elsa’s Ice palace and Main Street USA while traveling on a TRON lightcycle or The Mad Hatter’s teacup.
“Disney Infinity 3.0”launches later this month on Aug. 28 for all major consoles. A number of sets and toys for the game will be available during the holidays.
