Consumers may not have long to wait to purchase the new HTC One after it is unveiled. Reports indicate that at least one retailer may have the new HTC One available on March 25; the same day the device is expected to be announced.

HTC notably announced in mid-February that it will be holding a press event on March 25, which will take place simultaneously in New York and London on that date. U.K. carrier Carphone Warehouse has now revealed its plans to ship units of the new HTC one to its six locations in London “just minutes” after the press event has concluded.

“We know how keen customers are to get hold of the latest tech as soon as possible and that is why we are so excited to be able to offer the new HTC One so quickly after it is unveiled,” Carphone Warehouse said in a statement.

According to Carphone Warehouse, the new HTC One should be on sale around 4pm on March 25. The Carphone Warehouse Westfield Stratford, Westfield White City, Oxford Circus, Centrepoint and Tottenham Court Road locations will be hosting their own launch events in-store, while the Selfridges store will have the new HTC One available without a launch event.

Prospective customers should also be able to order the new device over the phone that afternoon. Online pre-orders should be available soon after, followed by availability at the 770 Carphone Warehouse locations.

New HTC One Predictions

Several rumors have surrounded the new HTC One, which is also referred to as the HTC M8. Notably, the HTC One was codenamed M7 prior to its release; this leads many to believe the M8 will be another flagship. Reports suggest that HTC might advertise the device as the “The All New One,” leading many to believe it may carry the name “new HTC One” or “HTC One 2014.” Currently, neither of these names has been confirmed.

The most readily accepted specs proposed for the new HTC One include a 5-inch 1080p HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB and 32GB internal storage options with microSD support up to 128GB, an UltraPixel main camera and 2.1-megapixel front camera and a 2,600mAh battery. Software is rumored to include the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system with an HTC Sense 6.0 overlay, which may feature an updated version of the HTC Zoe highlight reel.

Leaked images of the new HTC One also indicate that the device may be similar to its HTC One predecessor in design and may be available in gray, silver and gold color options. The new HTC One may also feature a duo-camera setup, which will reportedly include some post-snap focusing features.
