Almost two weeks after 21-year-old Bobbi Kristina Brown was found facedown and unresponsive in her bathtub Jan. 31, her boyfriend, Nick Gordon, is finally speaking out. The longtime partner of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston’s daughter released a statement through his lawyer Friday, stating he wouldn’t be seeking legal means to see Bobbi Kristina, despite what previous reports have claimed.
On Thursday, Bobbi Kristina’s cousin, Jerod Brown, told an Atlanta publication that 25-year-old Gordon was looking for legal help to be by Bobbi Kristina’s bedside at Emory University Hospital after allegedly being banned from the facility by the family. However, Gordon’s lawyer claims that Jerod’s comment couldn’t be further from the truth.
"In response to reports that Nick Gordon is taking legal action, he would like it to be clear, he is not," attorney Randy Kessler confirmed. "Mr. Gordon's only concern is the recovery of Bobbi Kristina. He remains in constant prayer for his companion and he hopes to be reunited with her soon."
Gordon’s lawyer then added sentiments similar to that of Bobby, asking for privacy for the family during this tragic time. "Despite the incredible public interest, we ask and hope that this request can be resolved privately by Mr. Gordon and the family," he said.
Since Gordon found Bobbi Kristina, he’s been determined as a key component in the Roswell police department’s criminal investigation, an insider recently told People magazine. "Foul play is begin investigated," a family source told the publication. "Including drug use and possibly cover up to remove evidence from the crime scene."
TMZ reported that Max Lomas, the friend who discovered Bobbi’s lifeless body with Gordon, spotted Gordon cleaning up bloodstains. Roswell Police Chief Rusty Grant addressed the allegation to People, claiming that officers are “going to follow the evidence and see where it leads."
Bobbi Kristina remains on life support, according to reports, and is still unresponsive since being admitted to the hospital.
