Rapper Nicki Minaj appears to be endorsing Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney on her latest record.

"I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney/You lazy [expletive] is [expletive] up the economy."

The song, titled "Mercy," is a remake of rapper Kanye West's song of the same name, and features Lil' Wayne.

Some people are doubtful of Minaj's claim, however, especially since she often uses various personas in her songs.

"I'm definitely playing a role. They don't pay to see me roll out of bed with crust in my eyes, and say, 'Hey guys, this is me, authentic.' They pay for a show," Minaj said in an interview with Blackbook Magazine last year.

Rapper Talib Kweli tweeted, "I doubt Nicki seriously supports Romney. Her lyrics ain't political. She just wants y'all to talk about her & she winning cuz it's working!"

But it does not seem that Minaj is in any need of added publicity. She is endorsing sneaker line Adidas, soda company Pepsi, and she has a new fragrance hitting the shelves in the fall. She is also rumored to be the latest judge on the hit talent competition "American Idol."

If Minaj is in support of Romney, she would not be the latest eyebrow-raising supporter of the GOP presidential candidate.

Former porn star Jenna Jameson recently endorsed Romney. "When you're rich, you want a Republican in office," Jameson told CBS San Francisco. "I'm very looking forward to a Republican being back in office."
