Nicki Minaj is having a very happy birthday this year. The Super Bass singer, who turns 29 today, apparently received a special gift: a kiss from Madonna.

In the presence of greatness. MADONNA . . . OH MY f'ingggg Gahhhh!!!!! MADONNA jus kissed me!!!!! On the lips!!!!!!! It felt sooooo good. Soooo soft!!!! *passes out* aaahhhhh!!!!!!!!! Minaj wrote on Twitter early Thursday morning.

According to Minaj's subsequent Twitter posts, the lip-lock occured during a video shoot.

It was recorded!!! *hopes & prays this footage appears somewhere, Minaj wrote of the Madonna kiss.

Madonna, who is gearing up for the release of her first studio album in three years, features Minaj and M.I.A. on the track, Give Me All Your Love. In November, an early version of the song leaked on the Web, delighting legions of Madonna fans but angering the Material Girl and her management company. The untitled Madonna album is set for a spring 2012 release.

Minaj, born Onika Tanya Maraj in Trinidad and Tobago and raised in Queens, New York, has had an eventful year. Since the release of her debut album, Pink Friday, the star has enjoyed music chart success thanks to her singles Your Love, Right thru Me, Moment 4 Life and her biggest hit to date, Super Bass, which achieved triple platinum status in the U.S. Pink Friday has sold more than 1.6 million copies in the country.

Super Bass was such a powerhouse song that it inspired two young British girls -- decked out in princess costumes -- to record their own version of it on video. The video, starring Sophia Grace Brownlee, 8, and her cousin Rosie, 5, has received more than 25 million views on YouTube, and even landed the duo on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. In October, Minaj appeared on the talk show to meet the girls herself.

Within five seconds of seeing this video, I was calling everyone I knew and I was receiving a billion e-mails . . . she blew me away, Minaj said on the show.

2011 has seen Minaj appear on Saturday Night Live, open for Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale Tour, voice a 3D character in Ice Age: Continental Drift, and guest star on several hits of other artists, including David Guetta's Where Them Girls At and Rihanna's Raining Men. Minaj has also lived up to her occasional title of Harajuku Barbie, mostly due to her fashion-forward (and eye-popping) outfits, hairstyles and shoes.

Next up for Minaj is her sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, which arrives in stores on Feb. 14, 2012.

Two days before the release of Roman Reloaded, Minaj will attend the 54th annual Grammy Awards, where she is up for three trophies, including Best New Artist and Best Rap Album.

In recent weeks, Minaj has been showered with award after award, including two American Music Awards, one MTV Video Music Award, several BET titles and most recently, the Billboard Rising Star Award, which she received with Billboard Woman of the Year Taylor Swift at a ceremony in New York on Dec. 2.
