apple watch nike+ release date price
Apple recently updated its Apple Watch Nike+ site to announce the Oct. 28 launch date of the watch. Apple

Apple updated its Nike+ Run Club app to version 5.1 Thursday, just before its Apple Watch Nike+ hits the shelves on Oct. 28. The update includes improvements such as Apple Music integration and GPS support for the Apple Watch Series 2.

Apple said that the new run summary screen included in the update will make viewing a map and run metrics easier. The updated post-run sharing flow also makes it easier for users to share it to their social networks, according to the company. The updated app comes with Apple Music support and will also let users stream playlists from the Nike app on iPhone. Apple Music subscribers will also be able to find Nike’s playlists in iTunes and set one for offline playback during runs. All runs will be synced with iPhone’s Health app.

For Apple Watch users, the new update will include full watchOS 3.1 support. Apple Watch Series 2 owners will be able to use the inbuilt GPS feature of the device. Previously, they could not map their runs, but now they will be able to do so.

There will still be slight differences between the Nike+ Run App from the app store and the one that the Apple Watch Nike+ will come with — the new device will have Siri support for the app.

The device, which launches Friday, will come with special Nike bands and "unique watch faces." It is expected to come at the same price as the regular Apple Watch Series 2 Models.

Nike has recommended users to update their Apple Watch to watchOS 3.1 before using the Nike+ Run App version 5.1.
