The house in question is located in the exclusive Thunderbird Heights community, anonymous real estate agents told the L.A. Times. The news site added the U.S. president visited the area three times in the past year, and most recently he stayed in Thunderbird Heights over Father’s Day weekend where he played golf.

If Obama were to buy the property, he would be buying property where classic entertainers like Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby once maintained estates. The land is the Southern California desert is also regarded as a cove for former presidents: Former President Gerald R. Ford lived in the area and other U.S. presidents have spent time there.

The house was reportedly featured on the July/August cover of Palm Springs Life Homes magazine.

The house Obama apparently wants to buy is a custom-built main house that was constructed in 1993 and designed for entertaining, according to L.A. Times. There are 4.5 bathrooms, four bedrooms and a gym. The property also has a pool with a 20-foot waterfall, two spas, a misting system, a rock lagoon and a putting green with a sand trap.

When the home was on the market 10 years ago, it was listed for $12 million; it was also reposted for $7 million.
