Austin Powers, the international man of mystery, is set to make a return to the silver screen according to a report.

According to blog Hitfix.com, Mike Myers has signed on to writer and star in a fourth Austin Powers movie. Myers plays the title character, a goofy, lovable British spy who fights evil and is a ladies man despite having teeth that would make a dentist cry.

Previously, Myers played Austin Powers in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Austin Powers in Goldmember. The last film was released in 2002.

The details on the fourth film are scarce. No word on if Jay Roach, who directed the first three, will be back for this one or if mainstay Austin Powers co-stars like Seth Green, Michael York, Verne Troyer, Robert Wagner or Mindy Sterling will be in the film. On top of playing the eponymous character, Myers also plays several other mainstay characters in the film such as Dr. Evil and Fat Bastard. One would hope all of these hilarious characters will be back as well.

For female co-stars, Austin Powers has had three different ladies opposite him The first movie had Elizabeth Hurley, the second had Heather Graham and the third had Beyonce Knowles.

The films, which are a comedic take on the James Bond series, has been Myers most successful series to date in live action film. Produced by New Line Cinema, they all generated healthy box office revenues. The latter two sequels earned more than $250 million at the box office. All told, the three films have combined for $676 million.

Since the last film was released in 2002, Myers hasn't exactly torn up Hollywood as a live character. His popular, successful animated film series, Shrek, has done well. However, in live action, he's only starred in one movie since 2003, The Love Guru, and that pretty much bombed.

The SNL alumni had a solid run in the 1990s, along with Austin Powers, he starred in the film series Wayne's World and in the film 54.
