An Ohio husband and wife have pleaded guilty to charges they helped finance a Mideast terrorist group, Fox News reported Monday.

Hor and Amera Akl of Toledo were arrested nearly a year ago; an FBI informant provided them with $200,000 in cash they were planning to hide in a vehicle to be shipped to Lebanon, authorities said.

Federal prosecutors said they planned to conceal up to $500,000 and that the money would go to Hezbollah, an organization the U.S. government lists as a terrorist organization.

During a meeting with a federal judge in Toledo, the Akls on Monday pleaded guilty to conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. They had previously pleaded not guilty.
