She’s baaack! Everyone’s favorite blood-sucking vampire will be returning to Season 2 of “The Originals.” That’s right, we’re talking about the highly-anticipated resurgence of Rebekah’s original body portrayed by Claire Holt. (We’ll wait so you can finish screaming.)

For the past few weeks, the role of Rebekah was being played by the talented Maisie Richardson-Sellers. Richardson-Sellers had done an impressive job keeping Rebekah’s storyline alive in the sophomore installment of the CW series while Holt took a hiatus from show. In fact, even Holt herself was impressed with how well Richardson-Sellers had represented her character.

"She's doing a great job. Maybe a little too good," the actress jokingly said of Richardson-Sellers performance during an interview with E! News in April. "I was hoping she wouldn't be so good."

Because of Richardson-Sellers’ great effort, we’re a bit saddened to see her go! Viewers waved a bittersweet farewell to the actress in episode 21 when Rebekah (Richardson-Sellers), who was currently inhabiting the body of the evil witch Eva, stabbed herself in the neck with the hopes of escaping the prison Klaus (Joseph Morgan) put her in and resurfacing in her original body (Holt).

And it looks like her plan of slipping into her own skin worked because in the promo video for the Season 2 finale, titled “Ashes to Ashes,” fans watched as the original Rebekah returned to the plot.

Holt, who is starring in the upcoming NBC show “Aquarius,” which is set to premiere on Thursday, May 28, previously dished to E! News that she would be returning to “The Originals” as the fan favorite character.

“Yes!” she confirmed her reappearance on the show. “They’ve been really great with ‘Aquarius,’ in sharing, so I hope I can continue to do both in some capacity.”

However, Holt has returned at a rather dramatic point in the storyline. Her character is currently wanted dead by her evil Aunt Dahlia (Claudia Black). “Welcome to your end,” Dahlia says to Claire, Klaus and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) in the trailer for episode 22. Let’s hope Dahlia’s threat is empty because there’s no way our hearts could handle Rebekah’s death just as Holt returned to the series.

Tune in to the Season 2 finale of “The Originals” on Monday, May 11, at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
