Paula Deen’s corporate sponsors keep dropping like flies. On Thursday, diabetes drug manufacturer Novo Nordisk fired the Southern host as spokeswoman for its diabetes treatment Victoza after Deen admitted to using racist language. Deen, who takes the drug herself, has served as Victoza’s public face since January 2012, when she admitted publicly that she has Type 2 diabetes.

"Novo Nordisk and Paula Deen have mutually agreed to suspend our patient education activities for now, while she takes time to focus her attention where it is needed,'' the company said in a statement to NBC News. "Novo Nordisk would like to acknowledge Paula’s involvement in our 'Diabetes in a New Light' campaign, where she has helped make many people aware of Type 2 diabetes and the lifestyle changes needed to control this serious disease."

In addition to Novo Nordisk, Target also announced on Thursday that it would no longer associate itself with Paula Deen or her merchandise. Target spokeswoman Molly Snyder explained to the Hollywood Reporter that Target plans to quickly sell off its remaining stock of Paula Deen-branded cookware.

"Once the merchandise is sold out, we will not be replenishing inventory," Snyder said.

Walmart, the nation’s largest retailer, made a similar announcement on Wednesday. The mega-popular retail similarly plans to rid itself of any remaining Paula Deen merchandise in order to break away from Deen's tarnished image. Hope Depot, the Food Network, Caesars Entertainment and more have all canceled their relationships with Deen after she stated publicly that she had used the N-word in a derogatory context.

Deen explained in a courtroom deposition that she had used the N-word to describe African- Americans in the past. She also stated that she tolerated several racist jokes in her restaurants.

On Wednesday, Deen appeared on NBC’s “Today” show to make a bizarre, tearful apology for her use of racial slurs. She stated tearfully that she wishes she could take back her past use of the slurs.

“If there’s anyone out there that has never said something they wish they could take back, please pick up that stone and throw it so hard at my head that it kills me. Please,” Deen said on air.
