Pfizer begins to lay off 800 researchers
Pfizer, the world's largest pharmaceutical company by sales began to lay off 800 researchers or 8 percent of its total research staff Tuesday, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal.
Pfizer began to inform the affected scientists and technicians working for the company today, a person familiar with the matter told the journal. The cuts are worldwide.
Pfizer employs a total of 85,000 people.
