Former New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress will get out of prison on June 6th, according to recent reports.

The 6'5 wide-out from Michigan State pleaded guilty in 2009 for possesion of a gun, which he took into a New York club in November 2008. The gun went off and shot him in the leg as he accidentally pulled the trigger as it was sliding down his leg.

According to state prison system spokeswoman Linda Foglia,t Burress became eligible for time off for good behavior, so he can be freed after serving 21 months of his two-year sentence.

Burress applied for and was denied a work release from prison in January 2010.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has said that Burress will be reinstated after completing his prison sentence.
