Plus-size model Tara Lynn is making a surprising confession about fashion and larger women. The 5’9 beauty covers Elle Spain this month, and talks about the challenge designers face with models of her stature.

"I mean it's hard -- and I'm just going to make this confession -- it is hard to make clothes look great on big women. The more fat there is on a body, the more variation there is in the shape of that body. And so it makes perfect sense that people are using a standard, clothes-hanger skinny body for it. But in terms of the way we represent beauty: If we're going to be selling perfume or makeup, I think it's a great thing for [people] to see diversity in advertising and not have to feel like they need to fit a mold."

Her opinion may come as a shock, considering she was one of the gorgeous women to be included in Vogue Italia’s plus size editorial spread back in 2011. She has since been the face of H&M’s “BiB” (Big is Beautiful) swimwear campaign, and been dubbed “The Body” by Elle’s French magazine. Do you agree that is is hard to make clothes look great on big women? Check out these plus-size models who are doing quite the opposite.

Marguita Pring has shown off her fuller figure in ad campaigns for Levi’s and Evans, in addition to being in fashion shows for Jean Pail Gaultier. Back in 2011, in an interview with New York magazine, she said, “I think we need to phase out the category ‘plus-size models.’ I'm a model. I'm doing the same catalogue and editorial jobs as the "normal" models.”

Renn has had a number of lucrative contracts with designers including Evans, Torrid, and Lane Bryant. She has also walked the runway a number of times for fashion brands such as Chanel and appeared in countless editorials.
