Niantic Labs is finally rolling out the latest update for its famous mobile app for iOS and Android, “Pokémon GO.” Just a day after announcing that version 0.45.0 for Android and version 1.15.0 for iOS are in the process of reaching Trainers, the presence of the new update has become undeniable.

The Pokémon GO team took to the official blog for the app on Sunday to announce the arrival of the update. Based on the patch notes, this update realizes what has been previously leaked about a daily bonus system. With this new feature, Trainers will be awarded bonuses for the first Pokémon catch and the first PokéStop visit every single day. There’s also a bigger bonus if a player has used the app for seven days in a row.

In addition, the new “Pokémon GO” update also makes it possible for battle winners to conquer a Poké Gym easily. The modification enables the winner to place a Pokémon in the open Gym because there is now a brief period allotted for this purpose after defeating the Gym leader of a rival team.

Aside from minor text fixes, the update also changes the Prestige points a rival Gym loses when a Gym member is defeated. The amount of Prestige in this case has significantly been increased. On the other hand, training at a friendly Gym will now warrant a smaller amount of Prestige to players. As per PhoneArena, this change sparks a more competitive play for Trainers.

Interestingly, it seems that on top of the noticeable changes to the mobile app, there are certain additions to the codes of the game that give a clear idea on what’s next for Niantic’s famous app.

By the looks of things, Generation II Pokémon are finally coming to the AR world of “Pokémon GO.” The Silph Road did some digging on the codes of the APK of version 0.45.0 and shared what it has found on its official website.

According to the site that is known to be a grassroots network of Pokémon Trainers, codes for 100 new Pokémon (from #152 Chikorita to #251 Celebi on the Pokédex) are now part of the game. There is also a code for a new move called Transform. This move is said to be part of Ditto’s movesets and the code for its animation sequence has been incorporated into the app.

Whether or not players will get to see the addition of new Pokémon in-game remains to be seen. However, knowing that the codes for the new features and new creatures are already here, it’s only a matter of time until we see them go live.
