“Pokemon” lovers can rejoice as the classic three starting Pokemon, Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle, return to the coming “Pokemon X” and Pokemon Y” video games.

In a new video released on the “Pokemon” YouTube channel, the original three Pokemon are seen in their new mega-evolved states, Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard and Mega Blastoise.

Mega Evolution, a new feature for the “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” games, allows “Pokemon” players to boost their Pokemon’s stats, change its abilities, or even its Pokemon type during battle. But unlike regular evolution, Mega Evolution can only happen during a Pokemon battle. After the battle is over, the Pokemon return to their regular state.

Players of “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” will be able to choose from the three classic starting Pokemon—Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle, as players of the original “Pokemon Red” and “Pokemon Blue” versions were able to do 15 years ago in 1998, when “Pokemon” debuted in North America for the Nintendo Gameboy.

“Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” are due out in stores worldwide for the Nintendo 3DS on Oct. 12.
