“Powerless” may stage a musical episode in the future.

During a recent visit to the set of the new NBC series, Rotten Tomatoes found out that Vanessa Hudgens — who plays Emily on the new DC Comics sitcom — is fond of singing while on set. While a few “musical things happen [on screen] sometimes,” the “Grease: Live!” star told the website that the comedy series has no immediate plans for a full-on musical episode yet.

“I’m singing all the time so maybe we’ll give [the producers] a hint,” added the 28-year-old actress, who rose to prominence for her role as Gabriella Montez in the “High School Musical” series.

Apparently, executive producer Patrick Schumacker is well aware of Hudgens love of singing, so if the series gets renewed for a sophomore run, he said that a musical episode is likely to happen.

“Every day on set is a musical episode with Vanessa,” the exec producer said. “We don’t have any immediate plans to do it for this season but knock on wood — if we get a second season, I think that would be in order.”

“Powerless” Season 1, episode 2 airs tonight at 8:30 p.m. EST on NBC. In the episode, titled “Wayne Dream Team,” “iZombie” star Robert Buckley guest stars as Emily’s new boyfriend who turns out to be a henchman for the popular Batman villain Riddler. In the preview clip for the episode, Buckley’s character takes Emily and Jackie (Christina Kirk) hostage and admits that he loves his career more than he loves his girlfriend.

Schumacker also revealed to Rotten Tomatoes that Jack-O’Lantern (Kimani Ray Smith) makes a comeback in the episode. “The second episode is Jack-O’Lantern making a return wreaking havoc on the streets,” Schumacker said. “[One of our character[s] is in line for a coffee essentially and you see the destruction happen on the street level.”

“With a new product idea green lit, Emily tries to get her team inspired but can’t seem to break through their obsession with Fantasy Super Hero League. Meanwhile, Van (Alan Tudyk) is on a mission to be included in the Wayne Dream Team photo.”
