Will “Pretty Little Liars” be turning into a movie? Fans seem to want the move from the small screen to the silver screen to happen … and so does series creator Marlene King. With filming for Season 5 currently underway, King took a moment to speak with E! News about her plans for the future of the hit drama.

“That’s always been the ultimate goal, is that it ends its life in one medium and starts another life on film,” King dished to E! “I love that.”

And King is dreaming big. She doesn’t want the series to become a made-for-TV movie.

“Oh, we want an in-theaters film!” she continued. “Big, big, big opening weekend, with all those ‘Pretty Little Liars’ fans coming out. And we’d get to do so much like big stuff.”

A movie version of “Pretty Little Liars” is nowhere near confirmed or set in stone. But if it were to happen – what would it mean for the ABC Family series?

King previously teased that the show does not end in Season 5. The fifth season is set to premiere on ABC Family on June 10, but the network has yet to pick up a sixth season of the drama.

“The end of Season 5 definitely launches us into a Season 6,” King told TV Line after the jaw-dropping Season 4 finale. “I think, as soon as they tell us [the end date], we will write to that. We know the ending and we’re prepared to get there, but we need a 12-episode notice to get there.”

Could the 12 episodes needed to end the series turn into the “Pretty Little Liars” movie? Despite the Season 4 finale clearing up a lot of the questions about what happened to Alison the night she “died,” the show still has a lot of questions left unanswered …
