Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy is foraying into jewelry designing. The Zimbabwe-born attorney will launch her jewelry line later this year.

The 30-year-old blonde beauty has traveled to her homeland to source jewels and create a line of dazzling accessories, proceeds from which will support schools there. Chelsy’s new jewelry line is called Aya Africa and will be available at Baar & Bass, a boutique in the trendy Chelsea area of London.

“The jewelry is absolutely stunning. We are very excited to be working with Chelsy,” said a spokesperson at Baar & Bass. Her jewelry pieces will be made from African emeralds, all ethically sourced. A close friend of hers said that she has been committed to jewelry designing since a long time.

The insider added that the former lawyer spent a long time in Zambia learning about the mining process and the history of the emeralds. There is a series of pictures on her Instagram feed that shows her holding a rock at the Kagem Emerald Mine in Zambia and learning about the process of mining precious stones. The company also features a shot of Chelsy at the site of a new classroom being built in Zambia.

After studying law at Leeds University in England, she started her legal career, working for London firm Allen & Overy as a trainee solicitor. But she gave that up two years ago and started down the road to her dream project — jewelry designing and building a school in her homeland. Chelsy met Harry in 2004 and had a seven year relationship with the British royal. The pair remains friends to date.

Meanwhile it was reported that the prince and Chelsy met up during his four-month stint as a wildlife volunteer in South Africa last year. When Harry celebrated his 31st birthday in September, Davy was spotted with the former and his friends at a bar in London.
