Thursday night Prince William and Kate Middleton stepped put to a fancy gala in London. The royal couple helped reason $28 million for charity.

The gala was benefiting Absolute Return for Kids (ARK). Others who attended the event include actors Elizabeth Hurley and Kevin Spacey, filmmaker and designer Tom Ford. The money raised benefits children in Africa, Romania, India and the United Kingdom.

Kate, the newly appointed Duchess of Cambridge, stole the show with a lavish pale pink gown. The shimmering silk tulle with sequin and crystal beading gown was by the British designer Jenny Packham.

This was Prince William's and Kate Middleton's first official public outing as a married couple.

According to People.com, guests paid up to $16,000 a person. The auction, which took place after dinner, sold items such as a box of medicine signed by the royal couple, which sold for $200,000.
