Princess Sofia of Spain was treated to a football match between Real Madrid and Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium in Madrid on Wednesday night. This time King Felipe of Spain was seen bonding with his younger daughter over football. The royals also posed for a photograph with the team.

The father-daughter duo’s outing comes after a similar outing which Sofia’s older sister Princess Leonor had with their father last week. Sofia and Felipe were spotted arriving at stadium to cheer on their home team. The younger daughter of the Spanish monarch and his wife Queen Letizia looked adorable in a spring trench coat.

The stylish royal paired her look with white trousers and striped T-shirt. Her long honey blonde hair was left loose in a side part and was styled into the season’s hottest hair trend – braided ‘do’. She looked thrilled to be spending a night out with her dad.

The father-daughter duo had the best seats in the house. Felipe sat next to his youngest daughter and looked after her throughout the game. The inquisitive little girl was full of questions and leant into her dad as he explained the goings-on of the match.

At one point Sofia beamed as her dad pointed out some players on the pitch. But the highlight of the evening for Sofia was meeting the Spanish team backstage. The nine-year-old princess and her dad Felipe took pride of place, standing in the middle of the group for a photo. Cristiano Ronaldo, the team’s superstar, posted the picture on Instagram.

Felipe and Sofia’s outing comes just a week after the king took his eldest daughter Leonor, who is first-in-line to the throne, to a match at the Vicente Calderon stadium in Madrid. The pair watched Atletico Madrid take on Bayern Munich. The Spanish king is an avid sporting and football fan, but this was the first known time that he had taken his daughter Leonor to a match. The family usually watch games regularly in the comfort of their home, with Letizia, and the girls’ joining in with their dad.
