“Quantico” is almost back, but the ABC drama is just as secretive as ever. The Season 2 premiere synopsis gives just a taste of what fans can expect when Alex joins the CIA. However, it’s the title that raises even more questions.

Season 2, episode 1 is titled “Kudove,” according to SpoilerTV, which might tell us how the episode ends. Last season, every installment was named after the last word spoken on screen. It isn’t clear if showrunner Joshua Safran will maintain that pattern again, but the title definitely has meaning.

Kudove is actually a CIA cryptonym or code name. It refers to the CIA Deputy Director for Operations. It isn’t clear exactly who that is yet. Blair Underwood will be introduced as Owen Hall, a CIA officer that everyone aspires to be, but it isn’t clear what his title is. There are also several other new characters who might fill the role. Either way, it sounds like everyone’s intentions will likely be questioned.

The premiere synopsis reveals that trouble will continue to find Alex (Priyanka Chopra). “While investigating the dark world of espionage at a mysterious CIA training facility, Alex becomes caught at the center of a conspiracy that threatens lives across the globe,” the synopsis reveals.

The premiere synopsis is almost identical to the “Quantico” Season 2 description ABC released last month. The network revealed that Alex is at “The Farm,” a CIA training facility, when things start to take a turn.

“As Alex navigates the dark world of espionage, far different and more dangerous than what she’s learned before, she’s pulled into the center of a deadly conspiracy that not only threatens the lives of this country’s citizens, but the lives of countless others across the globe,” the August synopsis revealed. “This conspiracy calls everyone around her into question, be it new faces from the CIA or old ones from the Bureau.”

Could the Kudove be one of the people she is calling into question? Fans will have to tune in to find out.

In the “Quantico” Season 1 finale, it was revealed that Liam (Josh Hopkins) was the mastermind behind the Grand Central bombing, and Simon (Tate Ellington) drove a nuclear bomb into the ocean, sacrificing himself to protect the country. Though all charges against her were dropped, Alex was fired from the FBI. However, she was approached to join the CIA. Don’t expect her to forget about the Bureau, though.

“The FBI teaches honest and trust and finding the truth and protection, and the CIA teaches deception and lying and twisting information to get what you want, what you need,” Safran teased to Entertainment Weekly in May. “We’re definitely interested in juxtaposing those two things and seeing how both sides work separately, and how they work when they’re forced to work together.”

“Quantico” Season 2 premieres Sunday, Sept. 25 at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
