Always keep your guard up because you never know who you’ll be playing against on the basketball court. A group of unsuspecting college players found out Monday that rappers Kanye West and 2 Chainz are legitimate ballers.

The UCLA Bruins basketball team gathered for a summer workout at a practice facility Monday morning when rappers West and 2 Chainz — who were playing on a private court in the same gym — came over and greeted the young players. The official UCLA Basketball tweeted a picture of a player with 2 Chainz with the caption, "That feeling when you meet @2chainz after your first #UCLA summer practice."

"I think the players were pretty fired up," UCLA spokesman Alex Timiraos told ESPN. "I think they were pretty excited."

The players got a chance to meet the hip-hop artists and posed for photos.

The photo op and meetup may have all happened by chance as the team had to switch practice facilities. The Bruins usually practice at Pauley Pavilion while they await the opening of their new training facility, which will be available in August.

It just so happened that Nickelodeon occupied the Pauley Pavilion this week, so the team practiced at Wooden Center, a nearby gym where West and 2 Chainz played Monday morning. A spokesperson told CBS Sports that West, 2 Chainz and their friends were playing by themselves. According to reports, West and 2 Chainz walked over and took a few moments to greet the players.

"A lot of our guys listen to his music, so it was a cool thing for them," the UCLA spokesperson said. "We sometimes get celebrities on our campus, and you never know how they're going to be. But, honestly, Kanye was super-friendly with our guys. I was impressed."

2 Chainz took to Instagram and thanked UCLA men’s basketball "for letting me and [Kanye] ball out at the court today." West and 2 Chainz took photos with the entire team, and even LiAngelo Ball got in on the action.

This isn’t the first time West was spotted on the basketball court. Back in 2015, his wife Kim Kardashian West rented out the Staples Center in Los Angeles for his birthday. West and his friends had the whole court to play on. Khloe Kardashian posted a photo of West playing with his friends for his birthday.

Kim rented out staples bitch!!! Him and his boys are going to ball!!!! Happy birthday Yeezy!!!!

2 Chainz is also an avid basketball player. He was a Division 1 basketball player at Alabama State in 1996. He played 11 minutes per game and averaged 2.8 points during his stint.
