Razzie Nominees 2014: Kim Kardashian, Selena Gomez And Lady Gaga Up For Golden Raspberry Awards

It’s awards season! While actors like Leonardo DiCarpio, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Cate Blanchett are receiving buzz for their roles in last year’s movies, not everyone in Hollywood is faring as well.

The Golden Raspberry Awards, aka the Razzies, is a ceremony that acknowledges the worst films in Tinseltown. It’s a tongue-in-cheek counterpoint to serious accolade events like the Golden Globes. Just for laughs, it's held the day before the Oscars on March 1.

This year, some of America’s most beloved stars are up for Razzies, like Selena Gomez and Lady Gaga. While they might have successful music careers, the silver screen doesn’t seem to be for them-- at least according to the Razzies.

But it’s not like Gomez or Gaga should be too offended if they actually win the award. Oscar winners Sandra Bullock and Halle Berry have previously won Razzies and even accepted in person.

Gomez received her Razzie nom for Worst Actress her work in “Getaway,” which also starred Ethan Hawke. The movie didn’t fare well at the box office and only got a 2 percent positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Gaga is up for a Worst Supporting Actress nomination after she appeared in “Machete Kills,” which got a 30 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Kim Kardashian is also up for Worst Supporting Actress after she appeared in Tyler Perry’s “Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor.” It shouldn’t be too surprising for Kardashian since she’s a reality television star and not an actress.

One of the worst movies of the year, as touted by Razzie nominations, is M. Night Shyamalan’s “After Earth,” which garnered six awards. But that’s not the only one. Tyler Perry’s “A Madea Christmas” and “Movie 43” are also up for six awards apiece.
