Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat trick as Real Madrid cruised to an easy victory over struggling Osasuna, 7-1, at Santiago Bernabeu, on Sunday.

Osasuna played most of the second half with 10 men, as Eneko Satrustegui picked up his second yellow card in the 54th minute when he fouled midfielder Mesut Ozil in the box, setting up Ronaldo's second goal of the match off a penalty kick. Even before Satrustegui's ejection, Real Madrid were in firm command of the match.

Ronaldo got Los Galacticos on the board in the 23rd minute with a header off the fine cross by Angel di Maria.

Osasuna would even the game in the 30th minute, when Ibrahima Balde slipped a right-footed ball on the right side by goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

After the Balde goal, it was all Real Madrid. Di Maria set up a header for defender Pepe in the 34th minute, and then added another assist when he fed forward Gonzalo Higuain for the goal of the match, six minutes later. Higuain set up his right foot for a curling ball in the box that goalkeeper Andres Fernandez had absolutely no chance to stop.

After Ronaldo's penalty-kick score, the Portuguese star would net his third goal fo the match in the 58th minute off a header, and it would be followed up by two goals from forward Karim Benzema. In the final goal of the match, Benzema gracefully collected the ball in the semi-circle, and delivered a fine shot past Fernandez, who probably couldn't wait for the final whistle.

Osasuna managed only four shots in the entire match, with two on goal. Real Madrid took 18 shots, with 11 on goal. Jose Mourinho's squad controlled possession for 77 percent fo the match.

Barcelona's 2-2 draw with Athletico Madrid gives Real Madrid a three-point lead ahead of Barcelona in the La Liga standings.
