UPDATE 2:10 p.m. EST: The Nassau County Police Department has determined that no shooting took place at the mall:

UPDATE 1:59 p.m. EST: A spokesman for Simon Properties, the owner of Roosevelt Field Mall, confirmed to News 12 Long Island that there was no shooting. The spokesman said a display case fell over after a shoplifter ran over it in Macy's, and the resulting sound resembled gunshots. The incident created a panic, but the Macy's and the rest of Roosevelt Field Mall is expected to be reopened soon.

UPDATE 1:54 p.m. EST: Dan Linden, an NBC News producer, reports that the Nassau County Police Department said no shots were fired inside Roosevelt Field Mall despite 911 dispatchers receiving such calls. Police said a few people sustained minor injuries while running out of the mall.
