Sam Smith is officially back at the recording studio!

The English singer stopped releasing new music in 2015 after he suffered from vocal cord hemorrhage. At the time, Smith announced that he will undergo surgery and would have to take a rest afterward. He also canceled his Australian tour following the operation.

His rep released a statement at the time, saying, “Smith regretfully will cancel his scheduled forthcoming appearances, including The Billboard Music Awards and Red Nose Day, and will resume touring in July as soon as he completes his prescribed healing time following the procedure.”

However, it seems Smith is now ready to release new music and perform again. On his Instagram account, the “I’m Not The Only One” singer posted a series of photos with the caption, “Recording x,” on each one of them.

Two months ago, Timbaland also hinted on Smith’s upcoming album via his Instagram account. At the time, he shared a snap of himself with Smith and Jimmy Napes, the co-writer of his Grammy winning single, “Stay With Me.”

Smith’s career blossomed in 2014 after he released his “In The Lonely Hour” album. It contained 10 songs, including “Money On My Mind,” “Good Thing,” “Leave Your Lover,” “I’ve Told You Now,” “Like I Can,” “Life Support,” “Not In That Way” and “Lay Me Down.”

In the same year, Smith also received a slew of awards including a Brit Award for Critics’ Choice, American Music Award for favorite pop/rock male artist and a Young Hollywood Award for breakout artist. In 2015, he received a Grammy Award for best new artist, song of the year and best pop vocal album. He also received a Billboard Award for top male artist, Brit Award for British breakthrough act, Brit global success award, Billboard Music Award for top new artist, Billboard Music Award for top radio songs artist, BET Award for best new artist, Juno Award for international album of the year, YouTube Music Award, NAACP Image Award for outstanding duo or group and iHeart Radio Music Award for best new artist.

A year later, he received a Golden Globe and Academy Award for best original song for “Writings on the Wall.” His other tracks include “Momentarily Mine” and “Together.”
