Samsung is pegged to start the mass production of Galaxy Note 7 in July and launch it on Aug. 2. The Note 7 is expected to arrive with several improvements over the Galaxy Note 5 that was launched in August 2015. Here are the top 10 specifications and features of Galaxy Note 7 that will make it worthy upgrade over the Galaxy Note 5.

Larger Dual Edge Curved Screen

A recent report published on Korea’s ET News has revealed that Galaxy Note 7 will be sporting a dual edge curved screen. Hence, the phablet is expected to launch as Galaxy Note 7 Edge. The publication has added Samsung may not release a regular flat screen version of Galaxy Note 7. Unlike Galaxy Note 5 that features a 5.7-inch screen, its successor is speculated to come with 5.8-inch display.

Improved Design With IP68 Certification

The Galaxy Note 7 (or Note 7 Edge) is pegged to sport a design similar to Galaxy S7 Edge that features a metallic frame sandwiched between glass panels on both sides. The Note 7 is expected to offer water and dust resistant capacities as it is rumored to arrive with a IP68 certified chassis.

New Inbuilt Storage

Last year’s Samsung Galaxy Note 5 came in two storage versions of 32 GB and 64 GB. Speculations have suggested that the Galaxy Note 7 will be newer storage sizes of 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB.

Micro SD Slot

The Galaxy Note 5 was criticized for not featuring a microSD slot. Hence, the external storage is expected to return on the Galaxy Note 7. Like the Galaxy S7, it is rumored to come with a hybrid SIM card slot that will allow users to add microSD card on the second SIM slot.

Stellar Camera

The Galaxy Note 7 is speculated to feature the same rear camera that is available on the Galaxy S7. The Galaxy S7 has a 12-megapixel camera with f/1.7 aperture lens can snap amazing photos in dim lighting conditions. It is considered as the best smartphone camera available.

The Snapdragon 820 chipset has powered most flagship smartphones that have released so far in this year. The Galaxy Note 7 is expected to be fueled by Snapdragon 823 SoC, a higher-clocked edition of SD 820 chipset. The processor will be coupled with 6 GB of RAM.

Iris Scanner

Most high-end smartphones that are available in the market come with a fingerprint scanner. However, the Galaxy Note 7 is expected to deliver robust security through the iris scanner feature, Sam Mobile reported.

Samsung is yet to launch a smartphone with USB Type-C port. The leaked renders of Galaxy Note 7 have revealed that the smartphone will feature a USB Type-C port.

New Stylus

Samsung had filed a patent for a new stylus earlier this year. The new S-Pen can not only function as a stylus but also can be bent in the middle so that it can be used a kickstand.

Huge Battery

The Galaxy Note 7 is speculated to house a 4,000 mAh capacity battery. The battery is expected to carry support for wireless charging and fast charging.
