T-Mobile is working overtime advertising the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 on its network. The carrier recently announced that in less than two weeks since the Galaxy S5 was unveiled, the device has garnered over 300,000 pre-sale inquiries from interested customers.

T-Mobile senior product manager Desmond Smith tweeted the news on Thursday. A week and a half prior, T-Mobile CMO Mike Sievert tweeted about the carrier garnering 100,000 pre-sales inquires in just two days after its Feb. 24 unveiling at the World Mobile Congress; reportedly a record for the mobile network.

Notably, the carrier has added an incentive to its pre-registration; those who sign up for more information on the Galaxy S5 are automatically entered in a contest to win a free handset. Samsung Galaxy S4 users in particular appear to be getting a bit of a push; last week we received a prompt on our Galaxy S4 handset urging us to sign up for more information on the Galaxy S5. When we clicked the link it took us to T-Mobile pre-registration page for the Galaxy S5.

Keep in mind that pre-registration only determines how many people are interested in a device, not how many people will ultimately purchase it. T-Mobile has not yet opened pre-orders for the Galaxy S5. At this point the carrier has not indicated exactly when the device will launch on its network. Samsung says the S5 will be available in 150 countries worldwide, but many regions and carriers may have their own individual launch dates. IBTimes has spoken to some associates in T-Mobile retail stores who have only been able to tell us that the Galaxy S5 will release sometime in April, but were not able to give a specific date.

Even so, T-Mobile officials have their hands on Galaxy S5 units; Sievert tweeted on Friday an image of a Galaxy S5 preview unit, as well as an image taken from a Galaxy S5 handset. According to the CEO, T-Mobile’s PR team is preparing for a major announcement, perhaps having to do with the carriers release date for the Galaxy S5.

The prospective price for the T-Mobile Galaxy S5 is $672, a visitor to the network’s website stumbled upon a placeholder for the Galaxy S5 indicating the price. According to TMoNews the placeholder price may similarly not be the actual price of the Samsung Galaxy S5, but is likely not far off. If accurate, that retail price would be broken down into 24 monthly payments of $28 under T-Mobile’s Un-Carrier program.
