New information about the upcoming Galaxy S8 has surfaced online. This time, it comes from a China-based analyst who is claiming that the flagship device will have a 6GB RAM variant. Unfortunately, this version will unlikely make it to the global market and will instead be a China-exclusive variant.

IHS research director Kevin Wang revealed on Wednesday that while the international version of the Samsung Galaxy S8 is debuting with 4GB RAM, the version that would hit the China market is going to house a larger 6GB of random-access memory. This new variant is expected to arrive at a later date than the international version because Samsung typically launches the variant for the U.S. and other western market first prior to announcing the China version of its flagship device, as first reported by Gizmo China.

Another distinction that the China version has compared to the international variant is its processor. The former is reportedly housing an Exynos 8895 chipset, while the latter has long been teased to come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 CPU. The rest of the specs and features of both versions will be the same.

Samsung is slated to unveil the Galaxy S8 later this month, specifically on March 29, during its Unpacked 2017 event in New York, as per Android Headlines. Aside from the Galaxy S8, the South Korea giant is also rumored to introduce the larger Galaxy S8+. There have been several leaks hinting at the existence of the S8’s bigger brother. However, this handset should not be confused with the successor of the now defunct Note 7. The Note 8 is rumored to launch later this year.

Just yesterday, the AI assistant for the Galaxy S8 was spotted on the Italian Samsung website. Previously, it was reported that Samsung was thinking of naming it either Viv or Kestra or even Bixby. Based on the new leak, however, the AI Assistant could be introduced at the Unpacked event as Bixby.
