News about the Samsung Galaxy S8 has trickled out gradually over the past few months. The latest news concerns when you can potentially get the upcoming Google Android smartphone.

Preorders for the Galaxy S8 are slated to start April 10, in advance of its previously rumored April 21 release date, according to a report from The Investor via 9to5Google. The rumored release date falls in line with previous leaks and rumors that gave the phone an April 21 release.

Samsung has announced that it'll officially reveal the smartphone at its own events on March 29, which are slated to be held in New York and London. The separate press events come after the manufacturer declined to showcase the S8 at Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona.

The new smartphone is expected to come in a 5.7-inch standard variant and a larger 6.2-inch S8 Plus version. Internally, the phone is expected to include a bevy of high-end specifications, including a Snapdragon 835 processor, minimal bezels, a rear fingerprint scanner and Android 7.0 Nougat. For Samsung, the Galaxy S8 looks to enter a busy smartphone release schedule for the first half of this year. Other notable smartphones will include the LG G6, which will drop its predecessor's modular design, and several updated models from Sony.
