Images of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 have leaked and they appear to confirm previous rumors about the device. The new images show that the next-generation Samsung tablet will have slimmer bezels and won’t feature a physical home button.

The leaked images of the Galaxy Tab S4 appear to be official press renders for Samsung’s upcoming device. The images were apparently provided by an anonymous source to Android Headlines. The first thing that’s noticeable about the tablet is that it comes with slim bezels and a tall display. This may confirm that the Tab S4 will have a 10.5-inch 2,560 x 1,600 display with a 16:10 aspect ratio. For reference, the Galaxy Tab S3 has a 9.7-inch display with a 4:3 aspect ratio.

Another thing to note about the Tab S4 in the images is that the device doesn’t feature the Samsung logo on any of the bezels. The Tab S3 had the Samsung logo emblazoned on top of the display along with the front-facing camera right beside it. Perhaps Samsung decided to remove the logo to make more room for the front-facing camera of the Tab S4. It was rumored recently that the Tab S4 might actually have an iris scanner, so it makes sense for the company to remove the logo and accommodate the camera sensors instead.

The images of the Galaxy Tab S4 also show that the device won’t have a physical home button on the bottom bezel. The bezel appears to be too slim and fitting a physical button there may not be possible. This is a major departure from Samsung’s previous designs for its Tab S series and it also removes the fingerprint scanner.

Interestingly, it’s possible that Samsung may have integrated the fingerprint reader with the power button on the side of the device. Another possibility here is that the Tab S4 may have an in-display fingerprint scanner, as pointed out by The Verge. Samsung could have also completely removed the fingerprint scanner, but that seems like a security problem waiting to happen. Whichever the case, the Tab S4 looks like a beautiful successor to the Tab S3 and it is following in the steps of smartphones, which are now aiming for truly bezel-less designs.

The rear of the Galaxy Tab S4 looks a lot like the Tab S3 and it features the Samsung logo and the “Tuned by AKG” branding. The placement of the logo and the branding doesn’t match the sketch that was included in the FCC filing from last week, but that really isn’t a big deal. The Galaxy Tab S4 is rumored to be announced during IFA 2018 in Berlin, which kicks off on Aug. 31. Samsung is also expected to announce the Galaxy Note 9 on Aug. 9. in New York City.
