NASA released a video showing a Saturn storm in action, with narration by Andy Ingersoll, a member of the NASA Cassini spacecraft imaging team. NASA

NASA recently released a narrated video about a “hurricane-like storm” seen at Saturn’s north pole by NASA’s Cassini spacecraft. NASA officials comment that this storm is unique: “The hurricane swirls inside a large, mysterious, six-sided weather pattern known as the hexagon.”

One other distinct trait of this hurricane is its stationary lock on the north pole, unlike Earth hurricanes that constantly move. Check out the video here and a photo essay on this phenomenon.
